Hangovers suck & potential transportation

Ouch. My brain hurts. I’m laying on the couch watching the 360 Knoxville Nationals.

It was almost exactly a year ago with Tony and Mike being there, but it feels like it happened yesterday. It’s fun to see the track on TV and remember so many little details about that place. I’ll never forget Tony learning how sticky the track was when he nearly lost a sandal walking across turn four to get to the pits. That was damn funny.

Some bad news… I’m stuck here at the old school and still can’t get into my new place. Best guess is moving on the 10th, that’s next Wednesday.

Some good news… I’ve confirmed that I’ll have a top floor apartment to get the better view!

Some more bad news… The tech guys have to shift to the new campus and get things working there before everyone starts showing up in mass. That means I’ll lose the WiFi connection here on this campus and will have to rely on my cell connection.

Some more good news… Losing the InterGoogle connection will motivate me to get busy with some other things that I need to tend to. I have some travel reimbursement paperwork to deal with. Also want to invest some time and energy into finding the right bike or ebike. I think the perfect combo for me would be a large mountain bike that has some form of powered assist I can fall back on for larger hills.

Jeremy from last night came down and we watched the 360 sprint feature from Knoxville together. He also shared a link to a possible bike that might perfectly suit my needs. Here she is…

Another happy bonus… Danie the tech guy can hook me up with a voucher for a big discount.

It’s big enough for me and has a 60 mile range using the battery. I want it for the hills. I think that’s way more than plenty. Also realized today that getting reimbursed for Covid tests and luggage will combine nicely with the health reimbursement money to fully pay for a bike like the one above. Not bad. I wasn’t sure how not having a car would affect me, but so far I haven’t come close to feeling it is an important get. We’ll see.

I would love to go back outside and hit some golf balls again today on the old soccer field, but it’s SO HOT it’s unbearable. After the sun shifts a bit it might create a shady spot on the field I could hit from.

My personal highlight of the day. Being reminded that my daughter is a special special young woman. She texted me something today at exactly the right moment. She has a loving heart and gentle demeanor. As we pass through our day we can choose any attitude when engaging others. She chooses kindness all the time. I’m so proud of you. Thanks, Pnut. Love you.

I still chuckle about Tony getting stuck to the track... Yep, the Moira is a pretty darn cool kid! Friend of ours has a similar bike and she loves it... it is a little on the heavy side (mainly the battery) Kath tried it out while in Ocean Shores and has an eye open for one as well...

How will you carry clubs on the bike? Will you be able to get them to the course and just leave them?

Replying to

Will rely on Didi (like Uber). Actually, I think Didi got blocked by the government. Not sure, but taxi services here are super cheap.
