Meetings, meetings, and more meetings

New staff orientation. Do this. Don't do that. Dress codes. No gum. The three T's. Three T's? Yeah. We're specifically instructed to avoid some topics. Taiwan, Tianemen, and Tibet. It's not because anyone here at the school objects, but they don't want the host government to shut them down, and that's a reality that could happen. Given that, this dude will abide.

Lunch on campus. More meetings to discuss mission and vision statements. Ugh.

Great news. One more night in the hotel and I can live into my apartment! I’m ready to unpack and then start to make my place my own. Time to start surfing TaoBao for more stuff.

I’m also about to have a new classroom with blank walls. That’s a no-no in my book. I’m going to need some art on those walls. Pollock. Dali, and Kandinsky are locks to make an appearance.

Last night with The Breakfast Club. I’ve really appreciated them as a group. Hoping after moving into the new place similar groups will form. I’ll be open and up for just about anything.

In the list of artists I know it was the heat that made you forget Derek Riggs... I could send a poster or two your way... jeez I crack myself up.

I remember an interview with Bruce Dickinson he was asked about tour stops in China and he said that dropping the f-bomb on stage or during interviews was strictly prohibited... he made mention of the very large "enforcement" team that followed them around and he wasn't about to drop any colorful language.

At least with the mission statement you weren't given an inch thick pad of sticky notes and asked to put them together with other sticky notes... now that is just a pain that nobody should have to…

The three Ts sound a bit like groups here who don't want us history teachers making their kids feel uncomfortable.

I believe making the kids feel bad is not the real concern. It’s the parents and grandparents not wanting to feel ashamed that’s the real concern.
